St. Matthew’s Youth Group (6th–12th Grade)

St. Matthew’s Youth Group meets on select Sunday evenings from 5:00–8:00 PM throughout the school year for fun activities, service opportunities, and spiritual growth. Check the calendar (to your right!) for upcoming meeting dates.

Led by our Youth Director, Zach Hartman, St. Matthew Lutheran Church youth group promises students some of the most fun experiences of the year! Past activities have included surprise day trips, mini golf, lock-ins, and more. Friends are always welcome—so bring them along and join the fun!

CALENDAR OF EVENTS :: FALL/WINTER 2026

Sun 9/20 - 5:00pm-8:00pm - Kickoff Meeting! Join us for the first youth group meeting of the year! We start every meeting with a meal (don't eat beforehand!), then head to the gym to play high-energy games for a few hours. Finally, we head back upstairs for our lesson.

Sun 9/27 - Immediately following services, there will be an “Open House” of the new Youth Room.

Sun 10/4 - 5:00pm-8:00pm - Youth Group Meeting: A meal, fun games, and a meaningful lesson!

Sun 10/25 - 1:00pm-3:30pm - Bowling at Forest Hill Lanes - $30/person: Whether you're a seasoned professional or have never picked up a bowling ball, this is the event for you! Join us for fun bowling, prizes, and certificates of excellence.

Sun 11/1 - 5:00pm-8:00pm - Youth Group Meeting - Parent's Night! Parents are encouraged to join us for this special youth group meeting! This is a great opportunity to see how youth group runs, as well as embrace your young side by playing some games.

Sun 11/15 - 5:00pm-8:00pm - Youth Group Meeting: A meal, fun games, and a meaningful lesson!

Fri 11/20 to Sun 11/22 - SED High School Gathering - Cost $180/person: High school students are invited to Watermarks Camp in Scottsville, VA for a weekend-long gathering hosted by the Southeastern District of the LCMS! Experience the theme verse of Exodus 34:6 with congregations from the who Mid-Atlantic region.

Sun 12/6 - 5:00pm-8:00pm - Youth Group Meeting: A meal, fun games, and a meaningful lesson!

Sun 12/20 - 5:00pm-8:00pm - Youth Meeting w Gift Exchange: To celebrate Christmas, this youth group meeting starts off with a gift exchange! All you need to do is bring a gift worth approximately $20 that anyone in the group would like. If your White Elephant skills are good enough, you might just leave with the best prize!
